Delighting all the senses, Red Ginger emporium on Jonson Street in Byron Bay grew out of a love of Asian food and culture. Now, this dumpling house is the place to be seen in the Northern Rivers for a green tea and steamed treat, as well as offering a full range of Asian groceries for the home cook and decorative homewares and furniture. Like stepping into the lanes of old Shanghai, the sights, sounds, aromas and tastes of Red Ginger lure guests to linger awhile with a tea in hand and tuck into dumplings such as minced pork and vegetables, sticky rice with chicken and Chinese sausage, or pork, ginger and shallots. Perhaps wrap your mouth around a steamed bun with BBQ pork; while for a sweet temptation try a fluffy custard bun, coconut sago pudding, or black rice pudding with coconut cream.
