Transporting visitors to the Mediterranean from the familiarity of Coolangatta is Xenia Grill, a Greek-inspired restaurant well-suited to the tropical, laidback setting on the corner of McLean Street and Marine Parade. Aqua tones and vibrant paintings set the scene, while a breezy alfresco setting brings the iconic Gold Coast ambience inside with locals cruising up from the beach for lunch, as those already dining link arms and start up a flurry of Zorba the Greek. To satisfy ravenous hunger, opt for mezze plates and enjoy a taste of everything with a glass of wine; perhaps try char-grilled octopus, fava and toursi, before pork neck braised in red wine, tomato and spices, with spaghetti and kefalograviera. Group diners may opt for a Xenia Gather banquet feast to appease all appetites.

I booked with about 12 of us. The food was great and the setting was lovely. Staff were soooooo helpful and friendly. Not one of us had a bad meal in fact we all raved about it. Best thing. We each paid separately at the end which was SO HELPFUL and we will be back for that very reason because there is usually more than 12 of us and its just easier . See you soon xxx
Great food and atmosphere
There were 11 of us and we all shared. Well what a wonderful experience that was. ALL the starters were great and the mains were too. The lamb was just to die for. Definitely will return again.
AN ABSOLUTE MUST !
Walking down Marine Parade we just followed our nose. Wafting into the night skies was a delicious aroma of spit cooked, marinated lamb. It was coming from Xenia Greek restaurant. We stopped and stayed; a good decision. The food was absolutely fabulous, there was Greek music and diners were having fun. What a great night. That was in February and we've been back twice since. Can't wait to go again.
This is a busy curbside restaurant that has the chaotic ambience of Greece. Busy and quite loud but that is due to its popularity as much as the setting. The food was authentic and very tasty at a reasonable price! Something for everyone on the menu even the kids with the Gyros with chicken or lamb and chips in the Make your own section. Not for everyone and definitely not for a romantic dinner but great for a large group looking to have a good time!
