2 Ford Rd,Pontville TAS
Adopting a biblical name, Twelve Stones Restaurant radiates historic charms, homed by a redeveloped heritage listed church dating back to 1874 in Pontville. A short drive north of Hobart delivers guests to the holy site, a place where alluring touches create a warm ambiance, from arched windows and timber beams spanning across the ceiling, while high backed leather chairs make for a comfortable experience. Here, one can be forgiven for over-indulging on sumptuous cuisine, savouring a decadent feast of local produce that flows from entrees through to dessert. Perhaps begin with Tongola goat curd mousseline cannoli with beetroot butter and salted capers, later finishing with local poached quince with pumpkin jam, sparkling rose sabayon and black sesame and toasted fennel seed tuille.
Braised pork belly with morcilla, baked crab apple, jamon croutons, pomegranate molasses, pickled rhubarb. Bagdad smoked wallaby with warm beetroot and feta salad, toasted hazelnut, raspberry vinegar.
