Housed in one of Toowoomba’s most historic buildings, Gip’s Restaurant is an ideal venue for smart, casual dining. Encompassed among old English oak and jacaranda trees, the tranquil garden setting complements an open and contemporary interior, suitable for any occasion. Attune to these sophisticated surrounds, Gip’s menu puts a refined spin on Modern Australian cuisine, offering café-style lunches, a la carte dinners and a comprehensive wine and cocktail selection. Dishes may include starters of nduja and saffron arancini, with smoked tomato Romesco and Manchego snow, before mains such as Grandchester eye fillet, potato galette, sauteed thyme mushrooms, buttered spinach and jus. Be sure to save room for a decadent dessert of chocolate fondant, hazelnut praline and raspberry sorbet.

Our function venue adjoins the restaurant and is in the beautiful old Clifford House (circa 1864). The James Taylor Room in the old sandstone building Clifford House is air conditioned, quiet, and a perfect venue for weddings, parties, corporate events, baby showers and high teas. The lovely French doors open onto the garden which is lit in the evening with fairy lights in the trees and around the circular drive. Alternately our alfresco restaurant is available for all of above.

I want to thank the staff that were working on Saturday evening the 6th of April. Great service! Great meals. Nothing was too much trouble. Drinks were amazing! Their old fashioned is top notch!
