Outback Heritage Museum

Originally built as an air terminal for the region during the Second World War, the Katherine Outback Heritage Museum is now home to an eclectic collection of pioneer artifacts, photographs and memorabilia. With exhibits ranging in date from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century, this museum illustrates the rich heritage of Katherine and its surrounding regions, from life on the land to Aboriginal artifacts from around the Katherine area. A major exhibit to see at the Outback Heritage Museum is the plane of the first flying doctor, Dr. Clyde Fenton, dating back to the 1930's.
