Mount Augustus

Visible from more than 160 kilometres away, averaging 1750 million years old and rising 1106 metres above sea level, Mount Augustus is a magnificent sight to see. Twice the size of Uluru, this monocline rock is the largest in the world, situated in Western Australia's Gascoyne region. From a deep indigo at dusk through to hues of bright pink, orange and red at dawn, Mount Augustus makes for an amazing backdrop, its 49 kilometre circuit offering views of the changing rock face, indigenous art engravings, picnic sites and walking trails.
