Secluded in the majestic karri forests of Deanmill in south-west WA is Woodgate Wines, an award-winning boutique winery. Owner-operator Mark Aitken has spent years producing many of the region’s renowned wines; Woodgate, his own brand, was established in 2006. As well as five picturesque hectares of vineyards (which produce nearly all the grapes used in their wines), the winery comprises B&B accommodation and a soon to open cellar door. There visitors will be able to taste and purchase Woodgate Wines’ skilfully crafted range of wines, from a variety of sparklings produced using methode champenoise to the classically crisp, fruity Sauvignon Blanc and highly awarded 2011 Reserve Pinot Noir.

I was lucky to have a bottle of Woodgate Wines sauvignon blanc, this bottle was excellent. I would highly recommend this wine, if you have not tried it, You need to. After trying so many wines from south eastern Australia, and NZ this boutique winery from WA set a new benchmark for me. I'm looking forward to visiting the estate one day.
