Best restaurant in Brisbane.
Quite possible the best restaurant I have been to in Australia. Loved it. From walking in to walking out it was a pleasure. The kitchen is open and run with precision and such professionalism I couldn't stop looking at how the chefs were working. Next time I go ill position myself so I cant see the kitchen or maybe just ask if I can sit and watch them working. Every dish that came out was perfectly executed, each mouthful was a joy. After realising that we were near the end of the tasting menu I actually got a little upset. I've been waiting to find somewhere like this since I arrived in Australia nearly a year ago. A dessert of ice cream pop corn came out... genius, absolute genius it left us on a high when we left. Cant thank you enough for sharing your amazing food with us.
The Zen style decor is ultra modern and chic, black, white and greys with polished concrete floors and expansive charcoal marble counters, beautifully contrasted with American walnut tables and chairs, in a rich warm stain. On the counters are featured large vases of twisted willow, and cherry blossoms, with stacks of chopped firewood, a pile of sea urchins, and a skeleton of a large fish. Huge glass windows overlooking a formal garden, the river, and the Storey bridge further delight the eyes. Imaginative light fittings and black and white modern art paintings, complete the picture. The degustation menu which changes daily is created around the seasons and the weather, is imaginative, and decorative, with some amazing combinations of flavours, all served on extra large plates and bowls. The taster menu consisted of thirteen different recipes, all memorable, the stand- outs for us being, The Lamb Belly with aubergine and cavalo nero, and the Deckle of Beef, with yogurt and parsley. Half of the pristine kitchen is open to the restaurant, and watching the chefs arrange and decorate the food was fascinating, altogether not soon forgotten. This restaurant is only a year old and has already won five prestiges awards.

Amazing!!! From the food to the furniture the attention to detail is second to none. Service is incredible; efficient, friendly and knowledgeable without a hint of arrogance. The food is extraordinary and a culinary experience unto itself. Ben Devlin’s menu is artful and contemporary and an absolute must try for any connoisseur. This is without a doubt Brisbane dining at its finest, and easily one of the best in Australia. Worth every cent!
Wow! Simply the finest food I've had in Brisbane, and by some margin. Delicious, artful, subtle and interesting. Ryan Squires in his best form is something special. Fantastic wine pairing with knowledgeable service, too. A must visit - I'd rate it 18/20. Excellent!
A very special night out. The creativity behind the dishes in the 13 course degustation was well worth the $$$. Every dish was a taste sensation, staff were friendly and organized and great wine/drinks list. Great option for a special night out with friends and fam.
The degustation menu was absolutely spectacular. We went fir the 9 course menu over the 13 and was glad we chose the 9 because it was filling. The kobe beef sabdwich was spectacular and so was the duck. Each dish served was exciting to eat and each mouth you take gives a different sensation. For $95 it was well worth it. Finally a restaurant in Brisbane that is close to a Michelin star restaurant. Absolute must if you like classy food. Probably not for guys who like 700g stakes for dinner. Customer service was good. The waiting staff are still getting used to the concept. The ambiance is nice. All up probably the best fine dining restaurant in Brisbane by a mile.
