About Shou Sumiyaki Sake Bar & Grill

Shou Sumiyaki Dining introduces the same concept as Sumiyaki dining using Japan's latest technology 'smokeless charcoal griller' where customers can enjoy a Japanese style charcoal barbecue. With fresh ingredients, seasoning is minimal with only a hint of sea salt to accompany the four home-made sauces. Recommendations may include: Grain fed Black Wagyu beef.

My first time there. I was very surprised by the excellent food and service received. Quite a unique style of japanese dinning, class and delicious BBQ at affordable price. Very authentic. Highly recommended. Especially for special occasions!

Shou Sumiyaki has fast become my favourite Japanese Restaurant in Melbourne. The staff are helpful and i have only been there 3 or 4 times and they remember who i am. They are great at expalaining how the menu works and help you decide what you might like if your a first timer. It's a whole new experience arriving there to the busy atmosphere filled with maninly asian customers, so your usually the token australian person, you have to go with the grill option (cooking it yourself) it's a whole other experience and so much fun. They teach you how to cook everything and always around to make sure your doing it okay. The food is absolutely amazing, especially the wagyu beef rump, and the pork belly with spicy miso sauce. Definitely worth a try, it will keep your coming back for more!
