Always a great time to be had here - family dinner down the back or Friday night drinks with the girls up the front. Love it!

I have eaten here twice now, once with family and the second time with four clients. Food was fantastic and the owner recomened some beautiful wines to go with the meals.
My clients have comented a few times about how nice it was. We are looking forward to having another night there. I dine out on the paninsular a lot and this is the best I have had for some time.

For a suburb that lacks in good food, service and entertainment it is refreshing to come to a place that offers all that. The moment you step foot in the door you are greeted with a warm and inviting decor and a friendly face who promptly seats you. The menu options are amazing, with a specials menu which offers incredible dishes. The wine menu is scattered with the best local peninsula wines, which i was impressed with as the mornington peninsula is renown as the 'wine country'. With prompt service from waiters/waitresses that have incredible knowledge of the menus you are no doubt going to have an amazing experience eating and drinking here. With entertainment on every friday and saturday the atmosphere is buzzing and continues to buzz all night long. Perfect for family's also with a kids menu to choose from! If your down on the Peninsula i truely recomend this resturant!

Magnificent location, magically flexible whether you are looking for coffee and cake, lunch out, an early bite out with the family, a romantic dinner or a girls night out there is something for everyone and I have never been disapppointed. Generous servings, fair prices, exquisitely fresh food and an awesome wine list. A great foodie vibe exudes from management down and I can't wait to get down the coast again to the entree chilli prawns and ususally can't past the fresh fish of the day. Although I did try the new Steak menu last time and was not disappointed......

GPO Hotel Overview

Regular live music combined with a relaxed free spirited vibe greets regulars and visitors at GPO Hotel on the Mornington Peninsula. Timber furnishings and glowing chandeliers radiate warmth in this popular Rosebud local, creating a stylishly cosy setting for mid-week dinners or celebratory drinks with friends. GPO offers a sophisticated, stylish approach to hotel dining, boasting a contemporary menu combined with a strong Mediterranean influence, seen in dishes like the salt and pepper calamari with preserved lemon aioli or the crumbed pork cutlet with apple, potato, fennel salad and anchovy butter. Vegetarians are also catered for with tasty dishes like the pumpkin pappardelle with tomato, garlic, corn and avocado. Be sure to finish with a dessert of ricotta donuts and caramel sauce.

A few words from GPO Hotel

The GPO has just completed renovations. Light Bright and Funky with beautiful new timber tables and bars and painted throughout. The menu likewise is new, tapas starters, premium Cape Grim beef, market fresh seafood, and modern bistro mains. Jump on board GPO Hotel's modern and unpretentious approach to hospitality.

THE SET UP & VIBE
GPO Hotel changes from a casual cafe in the morning to a restaurant in the evening, before switching to an intimate bar late at night, brimming with the buzzing vibe of patrons.

A cracking wine list and four beers on tap including locals Mornington Brewery and Red Hill Brewery give customers great choice and value for money. Live acoustic sessions Friday and Saturday nights are extremely popular.

The MENU:
Head Chef Patrick Bowring's spring menu features a mouth-watering range of dishes, including an exciting tapas/starters selection including Scallop and barrumindi wontons and the char Salmon skewers with pickled carrot, soy and mirin dressing are a treat.
Our famous Texas smoked 600gm Cape Grim ribeye is famous on the peninsula. Smoked to rare then finished on the chargrill it offers massive depth of flavour and guaranteed to be tender. The Cone bay Barramundi with roasted kipflers, celeriac remoulade and NZ surf clams will satisfy the fussiest of seafood eaters.

Executive head Chef Patrick Bowring (formerly of Circa St Kilda and the Pavillion) brings a new modern dynamic to complement the already successful kitchen brigade and dynamic menus that have existed since 2008.
