My friend and I were seated at the long timber tables around the back side of the bar where the ambiance seemed slightly classier. It was a contemporary industrial style setting with a partially exposed roof and it was all very spacious. We both thought it was a little odd, but groups of two were seated side by side and you had the possibility of sharing the other side of the table with complete strangers. Longrain is based on the trend of sharing dishes, so perhaps it wouldn't have been a problem. Service was attentive, friendly and prompt. We ordered a few plates to share like the betel leaves, the egg net and Panang curry and each dish was absolutely delicious. Other than the betel leaves, the dishes were much bigger than expected and we didn't manage to finish them. We had a cocktail each, my friend’s with a thick passionfruit base and my own with ginger and mint and both were very nice. As we left, we noticed the small tables at the front were almost all filled with business people enjoying a Friday lunch break, so Longrain must be gaining a fast following in Sydney. Thanks Longrain for a sumptuous lunch!

Pork Hog is a must!! The crackling is to die for. Next is the egg best. The curry leans towards the spicy side so if it's an issue please let the staff know

Fantastic food, excellent service, great atmosphere and always surrounded by beautiful people.
Our starter - Betel leaf topped with prawn peanuts roasted coconut & ginger, which we were encouraged to eat in one mouthful was a lovely mixture of tastes - the kind of thing that makes you look up and think hey, I'm going to like this place.
I had a twice cooked slow cooked beef rib - forgive me not remembering its detailed description as it is not online, but it was truly superb.
It came to $100 each with the wine and dessert, and for the first visit at least it was money well spent.
I recommend this place.

Inconspicuous from the outside, a quick glance inside this chic warehouse reveals a luxuriously spacious dining hall filled with the polished timbers of long communal tables, aptly setting the scene for smart casual dining suited to the on-trend locals of Sydney’s business district. Find a harmony of contrasts between hot and sour, salty and sweet on a menu of modern Thai and Asian flavours all created with a carefully selected wine list in mind. Sharing is encouraged for entrees like smoked river trout with green papaya and grilled confit octopus with black vinegar dressing while guests may keep mains of an exotic green curry to themselves.
Eggnet with pork, prawns, peanuts, bean sprouts and sweet vinegar. Whole crispy fried market fish with a tangy combination of tamarind, chilli and lime.
