Had a great dinner with my wife this week at this place. We were suitably impressed with the excellent food and service. The wine list had a nice offering of local wines and big range of whiskey too. Blue Sullivan's Cove was up there in price but well worth it as i had never tried it. The experience was great and we will return again.
I had lunch there the other day, the first time I have been for many years and was suitably impressed. Fantastic service, amazing food and a reasonable price the atmosphere and decor are fantastic, a must do, and worth many repeat visits.
We moved to Launceston from Perth WA about 6 months ago. Both my wife & I really missed our favourite restaurant very much in Perth. After a hectic few months settling in we decided to look in earnest for a restaurant we could call "home". We tried all the pubs, cafe's & the like which were not really anything special. However we were walking along George Street one warm evening & noticed for the first time PIERRE'S, so went in for a drink to see what it was like. The first thing I noticed was the Whiskey Bar, so basically dragged my other half behind me to take a seat there. The superb range, quality, presentation & service was exquisite, with a first for us being deep frozen Stainless Steel Ice Cubes. The reason, apparently for these is that a person can sit & sip without the whisky becoming watery as it does with normal ice cubes melting. BRILLIANT ! We decided very quickly seeing the fine service & cuisine, we could not leave without having a meal. To cut all this story short, we are now regular customers of PIERRE'S for lunch & dinner at least twice a week. This restaurant is the finest we have had the privilege to enjoy anywhere in Australia, & I might add many parts of the world. CHEERS PIERRE'S, YOU ARE THE BEST !!! Francis & Chantelle Young.
We have breakfasted here a few times on Saturday mornings after visiting the Launceston markets. The food is always very good and the service excellent. Looking forward to having dinner here in the near future.
We are an old couple who came to see our great grandchildren in the recent competitions at the Princess Theatre, it was lovely. After it was time for something to eat, so we went around the corner to a place called Pierre's. The children loved their fish and chips, as did four adults enjoy all their meals. The service was lovely and the place was very clean. We hope to come back to Launceston next year hopefully. We have recommended Pierre's to all our friends here in Adelaide. Thank You Pierre's. WOW, This is something different for the well travelled diner. This dish will not suit the "counter meal type person" however the more experienced souls of good cuisine will love it. Escargot, baked in the Shell with Garlic and Parsley Butter, Champagne, Eschalots, with Crusty Sour Dough Bread. Plus the Fantastic Tassie Fish Pot Pie, Duck Comfit, Steak Tar-tare. This would have to be my most favoured Restaurant within Tasmania. Do yourself a huge favour, try Pierre's on your own with no other person, and spoil yourself to pure magnificent food and wine.
This restaurant is nothing short of excellent. Richard Cooke.
Pierre's is a very special place, I have travelled most of the world & can honestly say this establishment is better than any dining experience I have had the pleasure to visit world wide. The experience is nothing short of absolute pleasure, the service, food, wines, staff and management have a score of 15 out of 10 in my opinion. Nothing is a problem, I admire the owners and their training of staff, to make Pierre's among the best dinning experience I have ever been fortunate to experience, world wide. Thank You Pierre's, you are all worth your weight in gold. Richard Cooke. Retired Senior Management Consultant for Levi Strauss.
What an absolutely sensational dining experience! Outstanding service, superb decor and the menu...world class. Never had better anywhere-ever! Many thanks. Col
A recent birthday dinner - I was treated to a night out at Pierres. A recently tweaked menu made the choice difficult with so many great options! Pasta Crab en Pappilote - Fantastic! Thanks again Pierres - another great meal, great service and a great night out!

A Launceston institution, Pierre's is an absolute must. Brilliant, creative food, fantastic polished service and a great atmosphere. Very highly recommended.
When coming to Launceston you can not go past visiting Pierre's. Already a popular one amongst locals (came here by recommendation of a local) but it's a must visit for any hungry traveller!
Since Fee & Me ceased trading in Launceston my wife and I have been looking for a replacement that measured up and now we have found Pierre's. Great food, service and surroundings at a very reasonable price. It measures up very well with the best that we have experienced around Australia. We will be back.
On my recent visit to Launceston I dined at Pierres and was most delighted at the high standard of the restaurant and quality of food in this small North Tasmanian town. The service was faultless and the wine list singularly comprehensive. Almost enough to make me pack up and move to Tasmania.
Couldnt recommend it more highly, the pork belly was amazing! Nice setting, formal but relaxed with great service.

I have visited here since I was a child & have fond memories of Chocolate Royals as a treat at the end of term & late night suppers after the theatre. I am most impressed that the current owners have retained the original atmosphere in their stunning renovation. This is a delightful place to eat, The food is no longer toasties & milkshakes; it is a sublime dining experience complemented by a great wine list and excellent service. A Launceston icon brought into the twentieth century. Highly recommended
our visit to pierres was of the best standard, will be refering others to dine in the top class surroundings, food was excellent and the service was amazing...best restaurant in tasmania...keep up the good work! Tiffany Palermo and Donna Andriuskevicius. :)
When planning a trip to Launceston recently my husband & I came across rave reviews in both the Sydney Morning Herald and Australian Good Food & Travel Guide. We could not have been more thrilled with our choice of restaurant. The steak tartare rivaled that we've shared in Paris, the duck confit to die for and the Scotch fillet with Cafe de Paris butter simply sublime. Add to that a clever and extensive wine list, superb service and a gorgeous, romantic setting, we knew we'd be back again and again. Congratulations to the owners on having created exactly the kind of experience people want in a night out: stroll through the doors off George Street and you can expect to be transported to a chic European destination - a bistro "en Paris".
The fact that I have had a number of meals at this establishment says it all I guess. I find the evening ambiance in particular to be outstanding. What I really love as well as the food of course is the lighting. The light is focused purely on the food and table setting itself. Dining is extremely intimate, you wouldn't know you had diners or waiters surrounding you, hats off to the architect. Partially mirrored walls coupled with amazing oil paintings add to this fabulous dining experience. Thanks to the owners of Pierres and their great staff for choosing Launceston.
We celebrated a 70th bday with 45 guests. Service, food, setting and decor were faultless! Food was amazing ....guests all raved about Salmon perfectly cooked, Chicken dish was melt in mouth with amazing flavours, Steak...Superb!! Entrees amazing, delicious , flavoursome.. Staff had a friendly happy and "nothing too much trouble" attitude! All complemented perfectly with beautiful Tasmanian Sparkling, and suggested Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blancs. Sarah, Rohan and John have fantastic food and wine knowledge and give wise advice to suit the people dining! Wish we could do it again next week!!
I just loved this place. They were seriously busy but couldn't fault them. Thanks Pierre's.
Just love it. Highly recommended
