Just as good as ever!
Returned once again with friends and all was as previously described with the only changes being to the wine list (now has top-notch Tahbilk varieties) and the pictures and artistry adorning the rooms. Garry and Louise are taking things a bit easier and tend to cater for reservations only (so don't just wander in unannounced if you want to do more than view the gallery) but still entertain wonderfully. All present were pleased with their fare and vowed to return individually at a later date

Wonderful Old Post Office Seymour
The Old Post Office Seymour is an historic brick building situated in the old part of town on what used to be the Hume highway but. with the by-passing of the town, is now easy-going Emily street. As a previous resident of the area I knew the building well though in my youth it formed part of a scrap and recycling center run by A Mr Noel Smyth who later became mayor of the Shire. In fact I bought a motor cycle there in 1966, but I digress. The attractions of the premises are many with the historical building doubling as a regularly changing art display and sales center. The establishment is run by partners Louise Barling & Garry Broderick both of whom are eager to please and most sociable. Australian style meals are served and are always excellent but not expensive. A comprehensive wine cellar is maintained, one again at very reasonable prices. Having departed the metro area for a quiet retreat in Benalla I now find that the Post Office is an admirable half way house to entertain my old Melbourne friends. I also obtain considerable pleasure from the delight they express with the locale, food and wonderful artwork. Fully recommended to everyone!
