Espousing a paddock-to-plate philosophy in Seymour is The Winery Kitchen. Located only an hour from Melbourne and tucked into Seymour’s picturesque Somerset Crossing Vineyard, this family-run restaurant, winery and farm has quickly become a gourmet destination, attracting foodies from all over. A wood-fired oven, tiled bar and wooden canteen-style chairs add to the pastoral charm, while a vine-covered alfresco area is an ideal spot to enjoy a Mediterranean-inspired meal in the sun. Perhaps begin with spicy calamari and garlic aioli, or mozzarella and nduja arancini, before delving into pasta dishes of casarecce, prawns, pistachio, garlic, chilli and white wine. Pizza lovers can pick up a slice of Little Devil – pork and fennel sausage, chilli, broccolini, garlic, mozzarella and Parmesan.

My favourite local dining experience
Whether it's a birthday, anniversary or reason I can find, I love dining here. The staff are wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. The food - just wow. Often I drop in just to test the specials on offer. Usually I struggle to order because it's all so good. If like woodfired pizza then this is the best going.

Chef Sam consistently dishes out the best tasting food in the Goulburn Valley. We are so spoilt to have The Winery Kitchen in our town of Seymour. No matter how busy (they are the most popular restaurant in the town), the dishes are served impeccably. There's always something new to sample on the specials board. We love just getting all the specials every time. We are never disappointed.

Best choice in the Seymour area (if you want something better than takeaway!), but would compete equally well with any restaurants in densely populated areas too.
Why can't all pizzas be made like these?
We all know that woodfire pizzas are the best. Who wants stodgy fat laden crusts topped with piles of food that just ends up tasting the same and leaving you bloated? Not us! We want the pizzas from the Winery Kitchen!. They are simply just divine. Beautifully cooked bases with inventive and tasty toppings that showcase the ingredients and leave you wanting more. And you can have more of the yumminess as they are just the right balance of base and topping. If you are not feeling pizzary, do not despair! There are many other wonderful dishes on the menu, that are creative, tasty and grounded in good Italian cooking principles. Great desserts too. The service is good and the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Prices are good; they reflect the quality of the food and service. Overall, you will get a good meal, at a reasonable price, that is tasty and not boring, will fill you up and is served to you within a reasonable timeframe. Excellent!
