Nestled in Pikes Wines ‘Polish Hill River Estate’ in Sevenhill is award-winning restaurant SLATE. Take in picturesque views of estate vineyards from the alfresco deck with a glass of Riesling in hand, or dine indoors among a romantic and contemporary design of slate, stone and Tasmanian oak. Head Chef, Louis Ritchie delivers his passion for regional dining in a Modern Australian menu, with French, British and Japanese influences. Expect simple yet delicious dishes like beef carpaccio with pomegranate vinegar, pecorino and nasturtium leaf to start, followed by free-range grilled spatchcock, avocado aioli, spiced tomato salsa and sides of roasted potatoes and green beans with salsa verde and cashews. Pair your meal with estate-grown wines or craft beer brewed onsite by Pikes Beer Co.

Slate Restaurant at Pikes first opened its doors in October 2018, and since that time has cemented itself as one of the Clare Valley's most reputable culinary destinations.
Recently awarded the Clare Valley's "Cellar Door with Best Food" by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine in 2020 and awarded a Chef Hat from the AGFG in 2022, Slate is testament to Regional South Australia being home to some of the best food and wine in the country.
Slate Restaurant delivers a Modern Australian menu featuring simple, yet delicious dishes. Showcasing the best local produce from in and around the region, with seasonal fruits and vegetables from our kitchen garden.
Slate's wine list naturally features the full range of Pikes table wines, as well as a selection of reserve and museum wines available from the private cellar. Pikes Beer Company, also features on tap, with a small range of premium spirits and freshly-brewed coffee available from the restaurant bar.
