Bringing harmony, unity and binding people together through food is the aim of Komeyui Japanese Restaurant on Ferrars Street in South Melbourne. Hailing from a fishing village in Hokkaido, Executive Chef and owner Motomu Kumano brought with him discipline and perfection for authentic, handmade Japanese cuisine. Gather friends and family around the table in sleek and trendy minimalist surrounds of black leather, potted greenery and floral arrangements, to share dishes like miso-cured kingfish carpaccio with fruit soy dashi vinegar, or deep-fried shrimp and smoked garlic salt. Choose from the Omakase menu and devour Chef’s sushi and sashimi selection, or oysters, yuzu vinaigrette, chive oil, smoked ikura and Geraldton wax; before an indulgent dessert of a Monaka ice cream sandwich to finish.
