Unable to honour booking
Because the Adelaide to Darwin railway line was closed due to flooding the Ghan passenger train service was cancelled. Consequently, I didn’t travel to Darwin as scheduled.

Great meal, great selection of dishes
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My husband had an entree and main course which were both superbly cooked. I had two entrees, both delicious & substantial. The staff were attentive. & well versed with the menu.

Very Enjoyable meal with plenty to choose from
A couple of us went for dinner for the first time at Char and were not disappointed. Staff were very knowledgeable with a long list of specials- started with the terrine, meatballs and beef ribs which were all fabulous followed by the double steaks with sides of carrots and twice cooked potatoes. The only little compliant was our main course was taken to the wrong table and by the time it was sorted out the steak was luke warm and mine being medium rare was more rare- All in all we would return again.

A stylish venue if lacking a little charm for a historical site. The food was excellent and the service attentive, warm and knowledgeable (a treat for Darwin). We ate seafood at what is predominantly a steak restaurant and it was delicately done. highly recommended, I will return steak next time.

Pricey but worth it. Good date restaurant.

Great setting. Attentive staff. Well priced, well cooked food and a well chosen wine list. A must if you are in Darwin.
