Those seeking 132 years of winemaking excellence paired with seriously good food head to Brown Brothers Restaurant on Bobinawarrah Road in Milawa. Nestled in Brown Brothers Vineyard, dine alfresco under market umbrellas overlooking the vines, or indoors in a warm and welcoming vibe ideal for enjoying dishes from a menu showcasing fresh produce from the kitchen garden alongside estate wines. A seasonal menu caters for light lunches, shared feasts with family and friends, or a five-course wine and food experience; think starters like pork belly, kohlrabi and fermented plum. Beef flank, artichoke, smoked tomato and okra entice for the main, finishing with smoked chocolate-covered chicken skin and mountain pepper salt; don’t forget to stop by the cellar door to pick up a bottle to take home.

Browns Restaurant is easily my favourite place to dine in North East Victoria. The ever evolving menu is always interesting, bold, creative, and above all delicious.
Although many wineries boast about having their own kitchen garden it is unfortunately rare to find one that actually adapts their menu to reflect what is available on a day to day basis. Browns does just this. You can guarantee that you are eating the freshest of what is available in season.
