Information & Tasting Notes
Winemaker Lindsay McCall had his first vintage in 1988 processing a mere three tonnes of fruit. With no previous winemaking experience, Paringa Estate has emerged as one of the leading Mornington wineries. The early success of Paringa Estate wines is a testimony to Lindsay's passion and intuitive feel.
A trophy Winner at the Royal Wine Show 2008, this is a sumptuous wine of profound sweet black-cherry aroma and flavour. Very powerful and intense, but not over-extracted, on the nose there is a complex floral bouquet of dark cherry fruit, subtle new oak char and secondary barrel ferment characters. On the palate powerful dark cherry/black fruit flavours integrate well with savoury/spicy new French oak. The fine grained tannin structure helps provide excellent weight and character to the wine that will age superbly with careful cellaring.
