Breaking the rules of wining & dining is Verde Restaurant & Bar in Mt Eliza; no longer is dining about multiple courses, well it can be if you wish, but if wine & Mediterranean style Tapas is what you’re after you’ll also find that here. Embracing dietary & seasonal trends is something that Verde prides itself on. Rather than finding a limited number of dishes to choose from Coealic’s have their own menu! You could try a main meal of Verdes’ own “Reef & Beef” Charred Angus sirloin steak topped with a delicious seafood sauce of prawns, scallops, smoked salmon and shrimp with hand cut chips, tossed tomato, mesculin salad

Nestled at the city end of "The Village" in Mt Eliza you will find a restaurant that has long been a favourite destination for both locals and weekenders.

Established in 2003 by local Chef and Restrateur Cameron Taylor, Verde is a modern restaurant offering a wide range of menu options from classical Italian pastas and risottos to great steak and fresh seafood, all prepared in a new and innovative style. With one of the largest specials boards on the peninsula, there is always something new to try.

REVAMP
Following extensive renovations, Mt Eliza's most popular restaurant, Verde, is proud to open its new Wine and Tapas Bar. The bar provides a relaxing "lounge" atmosphere where patrons can enjoy a fine selection of local and imported wines by the glass as well as Spanish style Tapas. Delicacies on offer include a variety of oysters with various toppings, Liguarian Olives with Chorizo, Dukkah Crusted Lamb Cutlets and Warmed Brushcetta with Chevre to name just a few. The Tapas menu changes weekly following seasonal trends.

The opening of the bar is a realization of a long held goal by Owner Cameron Taylor, to provide Mt Eliza with a relaxed, yet sophisticated "wine bar" where locals can come and order quality wines by the glass without having to "go out to dinner"."The anticipation from locals and Verde regulars throughout the construction and renovation phase has been huge," said Cameron. "The locals are very much looking forward to the bar opening and enjoying a few wines with friends".

BAR AND LOUNGE
Open daily, the bar is a perfect spot for a glass of wine on the way home, a quick catch up with friends or a place for pre-dinner and post-dinner drinks in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Wine menu prominently features Local Peninsula wines, with a good cross selection of Australian specialty regions (with age) and several imported options.

THE MENU
Verde prides itself by using fresh local produce and a diverse number of quality Peninsula suppliers. If you know your cheeses or are a cheese lover then you can't go pass the Saganaki kefalograviera with capsicum relish and roquette to start with, a decadent Greek cheese that is sure to have you searching the supermarket once you've tried it once! Moving on to main a popular dish amongst seafood & beef lovers is the Verdes' own "Reef & Beef" - Charred sirloin steak topped with a delicious seafood sauce of prawns, scallops, smoked salmon and shrimp with a light salad and Italian garlic wedges.

After all of this you could squeeze in room for a dessert of Toffee glazed lemon tart with a dollop of King Island double cream. Not all of these options are suitable for Coeliac, but don't worry you have a whole menu of your own to choose from! There are also plenty of vegetarian options available as well.
