Mordialloc's iconic restaurant for more than two decades, Windows on the Bay Restaurant is one of the few exquisite Melbourne foreshore dining and function venues. This beachside restaurant situated on the foreshore of Port Phillip Bay in Mordialloc boasts expansive bay views providing the ideal setting for that special dinner, private function or wedding.

Windows on the Bay is now under new management. The new owners are joined by a passionate catering team who are evolving the Windows menu, ensuring fresh and changing flavours blended with seasonal dishes leaving guests with a memorable experience on the palate.

Our upbeat and experienced front of house crew are ready to welcome you and personalise your dining experience in the spectacular and comfortable beachside setting.

The new team at Windows on the Bay have created a modern Australian/European inspired menu. The food is designed to reflect modern Australian cuisine, drawing on French and Italian influences stemming from a blend of fresh Tasmanian and Victorian produce delivered in a classic yet simple style and providing value for money.

At the forefront of our vision and philosophy is to provide high quality food and service representing value for money complemented by an exquisite and relaxed location on the beach.

THE RESTAURANT

All dining areas of the restaurant enjoy spectacular bay views and can accommodate up to 170 guest for a sit dinner function or 230 for a stand up function. The restaurant has two private dining rooms that cater to small groups ranging from 20 to 50 guests sit down and 80 for cocktail style functions.

We recently celebrated our wedding at Windows on the Bay and could not have chosen a better venue. So many guests told me how much they loved the food - each course and each option was absolutely delicious and just different enough to be even more memorable. The service was terrific and the view delightful. A fabulous night. It's the third time I've eaten there and each has been outstanding. We will be back and not just for our anniversary!

Great services, great location, although it would have been nice to enjoy the view to the bay during the day. (at night it's just black) but we did enjoy a stroll along the pier after dinner.
Food was stunning - all 6 of us enjoyed our meals. Well worth a visit.

What a gem! Simply could not fault. Stylish surroundings, a real transformation since I last visited. Warm, professional service. The menu offered a good selection of well considered choices. My husband had the Baby beetroot, goat cheese mousse salad and I the Canadian scallops on cauliflower puree. Fat scallops, lightly caramelised on both sides and just opaque on the inside – perfect. The cauliflower puree could be an entrée base on its own and a great contrast to the scallops and crisp prosciutto. Mains – husband opted for the herbed battered whiting. Simple and well executed highlighting the quality and flavour of the fish. He had a similar dish three day later at one of Melbourne’s best celeb chef restaurants – his opinion, the Window’s version was as good if not better than Neil’s. Being a pork belly fan I had little option. Wow! Lean, tender perfectly crusted generous serving of pork. Would happily indulged in a more generous portion of the calvados flavoured jus. But that would have been excessive. In all left feeling very well respected. Honest food with a little finesse but not trying too hard. Priced very modestly given the quality, ambiance and service. Excellent value! A good measure is how many people you tell afterwards about such an experience…answer here is simply lots. And still talking about it.

We had our wedding at Windows on the Bay recently and we loved every single moment there. The restaurant manager was very accommodating, she fulfilled every single one of our requests. The staff was very friendly and also professional on the night and most importantly, the food was amazing. All of our guests were very impressed with our choice and getting their approval meant a lot to us. So thank you Windows for making such a memorable occasion even more memorable!
