About Mitsuno

Mitsuno and Hide came from Japan and established their first restaurant in Hobart with reviews in Qantas In Flight and Gourmet Traveller.

They have now been operating in Malvern for 16 months and have already established a dedicated following.

Hide Shibata has created a unique combination of flavours using traditional Japanese cooking techniques. The Diced Sashimi Salmon uses traditional techniques but brings out his flavours, which appeals to the Western palate.
Simarlary the Grilled Snapper is a simple dish, but Hide brings out the textures and flavours, that only good chefs can. To create this dish the chef uses his own special blend of Japanese herbs. Another dish to try is the Sukiyaki Roll where all the traditional flavours of Sukiyaki are combined on one plate.

They have a small but comprehensive wine list, which is well priced, and also B.Y.O
One special feature is the range of Sake available including a new Sparkling Sake. Worth a try.

Service is traditional Japanese in a quiet, elegant restaurant with soft subtle lighting.
Mitsuno will also cater for functions and special events. If you want to have Mitsuno cater for your next function contact them directly or view more information on the News and Events section opposite.
