A spacious dining room, quality cutlery and tableware, and a relaxed elegance set the tone at Ragam Indian Restaurant in Doncaster. Service is friendly and staff are eager to please; that and the reasonable prices will keep you coming back for more. The menu could include prawn vindaloo - prawn cooked with vinegar, chilli and spiced gravy then mixed with cooked potato. Regulars will recommend the makai chicken tikka, which is one of the house specials vigilantly prepared by chef/owner Baby Thomas. Boneless pieces of chicken marinated in yoghurt, herbs and Kashmiri spices are cooked in Ragam Indian Restaurant's tandoori oven and arrive at the table full of subtle flavours.

Looking for new places to try I came across the review in the AGFG. I was a little worried with a booking for 6pm and an empty restaurant, however by the time we had finished our meal the restaurant was packed. Ample food and really good flavors, the set menu was a great option - not 'see through time' spicy either which was great as you could actually taste the flavours. Service was very attentive and professional- however we were there rather early so as it gets busier don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. Ragam is now on the top of my list for Indian restaurants and I will definitely be going back!

Is it the best? We think so, our 4 children has been to many Indian restaurants and they never say NO to go back to Ragam. The owner & staffs are very friendly and accomodating, the taste is consistent and where else can you go to an Indian restaurant that is clean, classy, clean cut decor, well fitted and you don't come home with the take away Indian restaurant smell? Well served. Beef Vindaloo is my favourite dishes, sure I have to tone down the spiceness to accommodate my dining friends, sometimes. Well done and our best wishes to Baby Thomas, family & staff for venturing and providing us with wonderful experience.
