Wild Dog Winery Restaurant Overview

Like a finely aged, well sought after wine, Wild Dog Winery in Warragul is one of the oldest in Gippsland. Their restaurant was established in 1982 and is now home to seasoned chefs offering a diverse menu including starters to share, locally inspired entrees and seasonal mains. Encompassing the Strzelecki Ranges and acres of mature vines of 25 years, the scenery itself invites you to sit back and relax and once you survey the menu, you’ll surely find the fine food follows suit. The Wild Dog name itself is a derivative of the original Aboriginal word 'warrigal' and you’ll find their creative menu is a cultural exploration rousing you to sip their signature 08 Shiraz or the likes.

Just had lunch today and was blown away by my meal. I specially loved my entree which exploded in amazing flavours and my dessert was an equal. I think if I were a meat eater, I would've loved another choice of main ;) My meal-- Entree: Warragul zucchini flowers filled with tarago cheve, mint and thyme, tempura smoked beetroot, toasted pumpkin seeds, pistachio and micro basil pesto Main: Tempura whiting, fries, salad, lemon and aioli. Dessert: White chocolate panna cotta, roasted macadmias, mango puree and coconut powder. YUM! As I am from Melbourne, the drive was worth it. The view and the ambience was rewarding, - though, would've loved better music rather than pop playing during lunch. Would definitely come back for fantastic food!

The atmosphere of wild dog is simply amazing, simply astonishing views. The staff are very nice and polite giving outstanding service. The food is exquisite a wide range of food with a great value for money. We would definitely return.
