Bruny Island is in the south-east region of Tasmania, a 30 minute drive from Hobart with an enjoyable car ferry ride for a further 15 minutes. The Hothouse Café is often bustling with happy diners as it's open all year and the homely feel is so enticing hence bookings are recommended.

The Hothouse Café and Morella Island Retreats sits on a hilltop overlooking the isthmus and Southern Ocean. The stunning panoramic views are ever changing with the whim of seasons and the weather, from calm and peaceful to dramatic and sultry, from the vibrant spring and summer colours to the hazy autumn and blue-grays of winter.

Use Morella with the lovely Hothouse Café as a base to recharge and replenish, after exploring the surrounding beauty of Bruny Island. See the abundant sea wildlife including whales (in season) wedge-tailed eagles, the famous 40 spotted pardelote and the colony of white wallabiesa and visit the penguin rookery. The view from The Hothouse Café is only surpassed by the display of daffodils in August and September. Indulge and unwind surrounded by Morella's vegetable garden. The Hothouse Café is always warm and sheltered with panoramic views of Neck Beach, the Tasman Peninsula and Mt. Wellington.
