About Lake St Clair
Lake St Clair is the deepest lake in Australia (190m), scooped out by glaciers over 10,000 years ago during the Ice Age. Impressive cliffs rise straight out of the lake, and a submerged moraine can be found at the southern end of the lake. Boating and fishing are allowed in the lake. There are camping facilities, and a visitors centre. A ferry service covers the length of the lake, which is used by both visitors and bushwalkers as part of their trip on the renkowned Overland Track.
