Tannin is nestled inside in the Tarkine Hotel, named after the tannin stained waters of the Pieman River and its tributaries. Visitors to the area can enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by an untouched environment; The Tarkine Wilderness. Enjoy the abundance of natural activities and afterwards refuel at Tannin Restaurant. Naturally, the produce is sourced from the surrounding region using everything from berries to ocean trout.

Its recent 2008 opening is a celebration of its history and future success.

LOCATION
Tannin is located inside the new Tarkine Hotel, which is a focal point for the Corinna community and provides the ideal spot to recharge whilst on the Corinna wilderness experience. Fine Tasmanian wines and beers are served at the Hotel, which is really a tavern. Located just a four hour drive from Launceston,or a one and a half hours drive from Strahan dining at Tannin Restaurant really is worth the effort. It's not often that you drive along a all white silica road . This is a great indication of the purity and tranquillity to come. Drivers can reach Tannin from both the North and South. Drivers coming from the south will cross via the Fatman barge crossing on the Pieman at Corinna for a fee.
