Tasca Viva Overview

Recently opened towards the beach end of Jetty Road, Tasca Viva brings an authentic slice of Spanish ‘tavern life’ to Glenelg. Catering for a more mature crowd, this restaurant/tapas bar has a stylish yet casual atmosphere with a vibrant, eclectic mix of tall benches with black and red bar stools, banquette seats and colourful Gaudi-esque tiling. A full tapas menu is available throughout the day and into the evening and, thanks to the head chef’s extended stint in Spain, you can expect the food to be authentically Spanish. Served in colourful ceramic dishes, options may include pan seared duck breast with confit peppers, fried potatoes, quince and duck jus jelly, ideally enjoyed with a drink, Spanish-style.

NOTES FROM TASCA VIVA

The menu changes daily according to market availability of fresh ingredients. We are focused on authentic Spanish Tapas using the finest local and imported ingredients. The majority of our menu is Gluten Free. We source high quality fresh local produce with an emphasis on fresh South Australian Seafood. We also source premium imported Spanish products including Iberico de bellota Jamon.

We have a number of exclusive imported Spanish wines and an extensive cocktail list with award winning mixologists.

The restaurant has only just opened and we believe we bring a high level of style and quality of food that has not previously existed in the area. Numerous customers have told us that it is exactly what the area needed.

We have a very high standard of fit-out designed by one of Adelaide's leading designers – Enoki. Our style is very eclectic with the use of imported tiles, stunning wallpaper and dramatic lighting. We have a casual dining and drinking area at the front of the restaurant and a more formal dining room at the rear. We have a covered and uncovered alfresco area for up to 50 people that is great for dining and/or an afternoon cocktail.

Stunning new tapas bar restaurant, situated beach end of jetty Rd. Sensational eclectic decor, with lighting fixtures that are quite eye catching. Passing pedestrians are entranced with the spectacle. The front of the restaurant opens out completely, for the warmer weather, on to a large alfresco area, that over looks Mosely Sq. From the wide ranging Tapas menu, we enjoyed the chefs selection for two, which consisted of genuine Spanish dishes, prepared by the the chef who spent years in Spain. The sauces were quite inspirational. We finished with a Crema Catalana, Spanish style brûlée, with sharp citrus flavours. A most enjoyable dining experience. We must return to try the interesting breakfast menu. What an asset for Glenelg diners.
