ABOUT
Dine by stunning city skyline and river views and enjoy the absolute water frontage and pristine parkland setting. The Red Ochre Restaurant concept is the brainchild of Andrew Fielke who, with his wife Kaye, developed and nurtured the idea of a 'truly Australian' restaurant dining experience from Andrew's first experiences using indigenous produce in 1985. To this we add unique Australian indigenous produce that includes kangaroo, emu and crocodile and other uniquely Australian ingredients. Just look at our menu for some native inclusions including pepper leaf dressing, Australian truffle oil & bunya nut hummus.

HISTORY
They opened their first business in 1987 and began specialising in 'Wild Foods' with great success. At the same time, Andrew began his own native food collection and distribution business promoting and selling these amazing ingredients.

The Red Ochre is internationally recognised as the definitive leader in contemporary Australian cuisine, priding themselves on using only fresh Australian produce and indigenous ingredients. Drawing on the foods and cooking styles that make up multi-cultural Australia today, their chefs continue to deliver the uniquely Australian taste sensation that has seen the Red Ochre enjoy unparalleled exposure and success.

In most instances we can boast 24 hours from water to plate and seafood fished from some of the most pristine waters remaining in the world today. So why not try the North Queensland Fortune Bay barramundi with creamed cauliflower, shelled peas & sweet corn, soft herbs, tea soaked raisins & desert lime chermoula? Desserts are almost compulsory here - they have a reputation for being amazing. For something light and refreshing the wattleseed pavlova with meringue rolled in a macadamia nut & native spice crust, passionfruit sorbet & lemon myrtle poached fruits is ideal.

The Red Ochre Grill is a stylish and very flexible venue and we are able to offer a broad range of packages and price structures. The main room of the restaurant seats 120 and the Park View room, our small private room, comfortably seats up to 50 guests.

What a great Dining experience,wonderful setting.The Cuisine,was both interesting,& beautifully presented. The service was a little slow. I would most certainly recommend this Restaurant to other people. Cant wait to go back.
