Assaggio Ristorante Overview

Service so sincere and superb can be hard to come by; Assaggio Ristorante in Hyde Park puts a capital ‘S’ in their service and that’s just the wait staff. Created by two generations of Kierno men, this Adelaide restaurant has designer Italian appeal with suave décor and design. The eye-catching setting combination of red and white is fresh and appealing, just like the decadent menu and wine list. You could have balsamic roasted duck breast partnered with soft polenta and Frangelico glaze or grilled loin of Atlantic salmon wrapped in speck teamed with with asparagus and spinach, pea and pine nut pesto, served by waiters wearing white gloves.

ABOUT ASSAGGIO
Assaggio Ristorante first opened its doors to eagerly awaiting diners in late October 2005. Assaggio was founded by father and son team Jan & Marcin Kierno, together with Italian cuisine specialist and Adelaide renowned chef Camillo Crugnale. Jan and Marcin are both prominent figures in the soccer fraternity.

Jan, a previously self-employed baker, and Marcin, an experienced accountant, were about to embark on their dream and new careers as restaurateurs. Camillo brought to the party experienced sommelier Orlando Bagnara and a team of chefs who had worked together for many years with Camillo prior to the birth of Assaggio. Within a year the partnership grew, with Orlando and three of the chefs given the opportunity to ensure Assaggio's care, consistency and attention to detail is well maintained.

Assaggio Ristorante is situated at 92-94 King William Road, Hyde Park, an established fashion/retail strip in cosmopolitan Adelaide, which has also gained recognition for its dining establishments.

ASSAGGIO MENU
Assaggio (meaning 'to taste') offers a substantial a la carte menu with gluten free and vegetarian options complemented by an extensive international wine list with an emphasis on Italian style and Australian wines.

Assaggio's setting boasts style with contemporary colours. Features include an upholstered leather feature wall, mosaics, dark wood finishes, climate controlled wine fridges, red leather chairs, and tables adorned with white linen, Villeroy & Boch crockery and Riedel glassware.

This is one of my all time favourite restaurants for it's amazing ability to make you feel like you have walked into the arms of your long lost Italian family - even when you are not Italian. The host will greet you as if you are the most important person in the world and that he is personally overjoyed to see you. The food is upscale, delicious, interesting but not mad, nourishing, sensual, rich Italian food, beautifully but not fussily presented. A seperate gluten-free menu is available. The decor is as comforting as the hosts and the food. The service impeccable. You will have a good time here and eat like Italian royalty.

What a beautiful Restaurant, have been before,have not been disappointed, The food Excellent, Compliments to the Chef & Staff. The presentation of each dish was superb. The Staff also deserve compliments, most Professional.
