The Little Hunter has put Adelaide on the map for great food, great atmosphere and the friendliest service you will ever receive in a "pub". I walked past the Little Hunter and deciced to come back with the boys after the footy and check it out. We were told you couldn't book but to come in and they would do all they could to accommodate for us. As we came in after the footy, the venue was packed- disgruntled crows fans, mixing with Saturday night dinner eaters and the festive Melbourne supporters, it was absolutetly buzzing with excitement. As soon as I walked in Id realised we had hit a goldmine. They aren't a restaurant as there is no table service but there was only a short wait at the bar to order food. Abbey who took our food orders was friendly and bubbly and took her time explaning the different steaks we asked about, even cracking jokes and having a laugh with us despite how busy they were and the bar staff asking questions every few minutes in between. On her recommendation I had the wagyu rump, cooked medium-rare with chips and salad. She had said Id be in food coma like herself after she had eaten it for dinner and boy I was. The steak was cooked perfectly, the Dianne sauce was the real deal not the crappy packet stuff. The chips I could have asked for a bucket load. The other boys ordered the ribs- which just fell off the bone, and the huge 700gm rib eye on the bone was the biggest piece of meat Ive ever seen. After they had calmed down a little, we'd been asked if everything was ok, to which the reply with a mouthful of food was a big head nod from all of us. Abbey once the food line had calmed down even came out to ask us if we liked what she had suggested and then proceeded to tell us about the history of the place and what they hoped to do with Little Hunter. For young bartenders/ managers to do this in this day and age is a rarity. It was fantastic to see. This is a hidden gem- I suggest getting in there to see it for yourself before it get
