Even if you’re not on holiday, who doesn’t want to feel like they are? Being at Salt House Restaurant at Marina Point, Cairns feels like a holiday, every day. You won’t know where to look; city views, mountain landscape and an ocean horizon all compete for your attention. Not to mention the live bands & great people watching. Suave & sexy, this venue is set to impress with an open kitchen & two metre wood-fire grill adding spectacle to your dining experience. Menu options may include Angus reserve sirloin served with confit garlic mash, asparagus, roast pumpkin salsa & Bundaberg rum sauce as well as White chocolate & Malibu cheesecake served with sago pina colada granita and pineapple.

2009 saw the much anticipated opening of Salt House in Cairns. Situated at Marina Point, Salt House is a unique dining, bar and entertainment venue offering a panorama of the ocean, marina and city on the waterfront.

Salt House offers a space that is glamorous, funky, chilled out, lively and welcoming all at once. There are several facets to this standard-setting venue: a large restaurant area with a custom wood-fired grill and open kitchen, an outdoor cocktail bar surrounded by flowing ponds and fire features, and a glowing bar in the front of the complex which showcases local and visiting bands.

Breezy seascapes and tranquil ponds during the day give way to a buzzing atmosphere and a discerning crowd as the sun goes down and the night heats up.

Salt House is at your service seven days a week. Located on the Cairns Marina, the views across Cairns Inlet out to the Coral Sea are punctuated only by passing yachts and sea birds, allowing you to enjoy your meal with a stunning panorama at any time of day.

Breakfast presents the essential assortments for a great start to your morning - tropical fruit for the health conscious or a traditional hot breakfast. The bar opens at 7am for freshly squeezed juices and espresso coffee, then at 10am for a spicy Bloody Mary or champagne.

After breakfast relax on the day beds of our Deck Bar and soak in the views before the Lunch and Tapas Bar Menus begin at midday. Small tapas style plates are served in both bars from midday to 10pm. For those requiring a more substantial meal, our a la carte menus for both lunch and dinner provide an array of dishes to suit all tastes. Our menus are constantly evolving, so keep checking our website for updates and information.

Salt House boasts an open kitchen providing theatre to those dining. A two metre wood-fire grill is the centrepiece on the main floor of our restaurant. Locally grown, plantation hardwood adds a unique smoky flavour to juicy steaks, whole fish and crustacea cooked by our talented chefs.

If you are seeking a private area for special occasions, Salt House offers two private dining areas. Our Private Dining Room in the working wine cellar offers independent climate control, soundproofing and can seat up to 14 guests comfortably. Views north over the ocean are framed by our extensive wine selection as you and your guests are cocooned in your own exclusive space

For a more casual outdoor setting, our Dining Island seats up to eight guests and is situated next to the cocktail bar, surrounded by bluestone water features that come to life from the warm glow of the gas fires as they are lit at sunset.
