Magnetic Island is in the Whitsundays & Great Barrier Reef Region located in the state of Queensland. The post code for Magnetic Island is 4819.
Magnetic Island lies 8km north of Townsville. Much of the island is national park, and the eucalypt forests are home to many koalas. There are 23 bays most with golden sandy beaches and views of the Coral Sea. Access is via ferry service, which also transports motor vehicles to the island, and you can travel around the island on sealed roads. Cars can be hired there, along with motor scooters and push bikes.
