Fox & Hounds Country Inn Overview

Looking every bit the English country pub, the Fox & Hounds Country Inn is a little slice of Old Blighty in Wongawallan in the Gold Coast hinterland. This cosy restaurant/pub abounds with old world charm and character, from the whitewashed walls and bright red phone box outside to the cosy interior with fireplaces, dark wood panelling and beams, and antiques, memorabilia and original fittings from the old country. A stylish alfresco area and Saturday live music sessions add a more modern, local flavour but the menu is steadfastly British and Irish, with a few spicy cameos from the subcontinent and a great selection of ales and ciders to wash it down with.

The Fox and Hounds Country Inn is a unique English/Irish licenced restaurant nestled at the base of Tamborine Mountain, just 11 kilometres from the M1 exit at Oxenford in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Established in 2008, the Fox and Hounds Country Inn is the perfect scale of an old English Pub and has a fine range of English and Irish memorabilia adorning the walls. Most of the internal fittings of the Fox and Hounds came from the Sussex Arms Hotel in Tunbridge Wells making it that much more unique.

The Fox and Hounds is immensely popular within the British ex-patriot community, locals and tourists, offering a fine range of traditional food, beers and wines. Sundays and Mondays are traditional roast days and reservations are essential for these days. We have a selection of 8 beers on tap including a few English & Irish favourites - Guinness, Tetleys, Kilkenny, Green King IPA and Crushed Apple Cider. We also have our own Foxy Lady Ginger Cider and Fox & Hounds Lite Ale, which are brewed locally and exclusively for us.

We have a lovely outdoor alfresco dining area which has become very popular. This was constructed to suit all weather and has seating to cater for 50 people. Every Saturday we have light live entertainment so come along and enjoy a good meal and a pint with friends & family . While you're here why not have your photo taken with the Queen.

The Fox and Hounds is becoming a premier place for a great value meal and drink and a fine place to relax. Stuart and Vicki sincerely thank all of our patrons in helping make the Fox and Hounds "The Place" on the Gold Coast.
