Intimate, candlelit and classy, it’s a place where, to quote award-winning head chef/owner Terry Leung, ‘our passion for food meets your hungry soul’. And no hungry soul is likely to be disappointed by the dishes here, created with flair and expertise. Given its high quality, the seasonal menu is surprisingly affordable and might include Master Stock Duck Maryland, served with crisped potato and a mild chilli & pomegranate syrup and Slow Cooked Pork Shank, deboned & cooked with roasted tomatoes, walnut & date, served with cumin polenta.

As you'd expect Terry has a flair for creating Asian dishes. His intimate knowledge of food from all cultures is also exploited to provide a combination of cooking flair, impeccable service, and ambience rarely seen with such affordability.

Functions of large numbers of friends and families are catered for in the newest addition to the restaurant, the Food & Soul 30 seat function room. Guests are spoilt with generous meals and quality service that will create memories for years to come. Birthdays, business lunches and family gatherings are Terry's specialty and each occasion is different.

Terry radiates passion for his food. His regular patrons have also come to enjoy his company when dining and learning more about his absolute love for the cuisine industry and the foods and flavours of the world. Terry makes it his business to get to know every patron who dines with him and that relationship stays with him.

INTRODUCING YOUR HOSTS at FOOD & SOUL
Terry is highly regarded chef throughout Brisbane having worked at several of the city's best dining venues. Originally from Hong Kong, he started his career in Sheraton Hotel in 1979 and worked in few other restaurants and left Hong Kong for Papua New Guinea to join Travelodge Hotel Group. He there stayed for 2 Years and got transferred to Australia and as part of the opening team for the Brisbane City Travelodge.

He then worked through Brisbane Sheraton, Brisbane Hilton and Gold Coast International Hotel as a senior Sous Chef and in 1989, he was appointed as Executive chef to open the Kangaroo Point Parkroyal Apartment Hotel. He then had a few restaurant businesses.

In 1999, he joined Mantle Group as group Executive Chef and in charged of the opening of Pig & Whistle Bar & Restaurants. A total 10 restaurants with 70 chefs and 2000 seats operation.

At 2004, he left Mantle Group and to open the Food & Soul Restaurant in Auchenflower with his creative Modern Asian Cuisine and focus on providing lots of gluten free & dairy free dishes. Twenty months ago he opened his 2nd restaurant, Soul Bistro in Milton to provide a very affordable price for younger groups and lunch workers with home style cooking and focus at using seasonal & freshest produces for the diners.

Terry & Cindy have exceptional understanding of quality service. If you know Terry, you'll also know how absolutely passionate he is about every aspect of his cooking. The restaurant is in fact named to reflect Terry's deeply held belief that a really good chef creates from heart & soul. Most people would agree that cooking is an art and Terry is just superb at creating dishes of distinction.

Between 2004-2006, Terry had won the Modern Asian cooking Competition 3 years on the row.

As you'd expect Terry has real flair for creating Asian dishes, but what sets him apart is his intimate knowledge of food from European and many other cultures. We genuinely believe very few restaurants can provide the combination of cooking flair, immaculate service and ambience at such affordable price; however, you be the judge.
