Oui, Oui monsieur! Situate in a lovely part of The Rocks, Baroque resides in a handsome heritage listed building effortlessly complementing the modern French bistro style food. The dining room is a comfortable and understated space featuring a main bar & open plan kitchen. From the menu, of particular note are the Snail & asparagus salad, and the Black pudding tart with confit apple & potato cream. The Duck is flavoursome and tender while the soufflé is definitely worth the wait.

My family spent a weekend trying to sample all things French and found that the macarons made at Baroque, to be the best that we found anywhere, with a real wow-factor injected into each flavour.
We also ate at the restaurant and were equally impressed by the savoury menu, the staff and the theme of the interior.

My wife found this restaurant online and for how it presented, we booked. Having gotten there on a cold and windy Saturday night, we were welcomed warmly and taken to our table set especially as we had our baby with us too.
I loved the place from top to tail. I would normally have given it a full complement of 10/10 ratings, but my wife said that two very minor things were not perfect in her eyes. She prefers more modern designs to interiors instead or the wonderful eclectic feel that Baroque provides. And the food was fabulous, but did leave the smallest room for improvement. I would not hesitate one second to return here though.
I found items on the menu that I'd been hoping to experience for years and was treated to such a skilled and great tasting preparation of them - brilliant! Desserts are the weakness if my wife and I; and all night we were eying off the pastry section of the kitchen and trying to choose what to indulge in. My choice of 'the pompadour’ was one of the most delicious sweets I’ve ever had and so delicately constructed.
Baroque should be a destination for all serious food lovers looking for something with a bit of a twist.

This French bistro will remind you of that last trip to France with delicious Duck Confit, Cassoulet or Bouillabaisse or Cheese Souffle. Although it is newly opened I have eaten there 3 times and everything has been perfect. Make sure you allow room for the fabulous Charteuse Souffle with Chartreuse Ice Cream and try to decide which tasty Macaron to have with your coffee. Great food, great prices at $25-$29 for mains. Two course lunch $35.
