Located in the mecca of North Sydney’s vibrant Berry Street, nestled in a contemporary building, Bel Paese Ristorante Italiano has stood the test of time. Owner Pino Russo has been enchanting patrons with the panache of his Italian heritage for more than 19 years. With floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening onto a charming garden courtyard, the dining room is spacious; the service is personal; the wine list sharp and the menu every bit enticing. Recommended dishes include grilled Western Australian scampi with basil burro bianco (basil butter).

Have you ever raced through busy Berry Street and not noticed Bel Paese Ristorante Italiano? For those of us lucky enough to venture through the foyer of the People Telecom building and walk into Bel Paese, it's like finding an island paradise. Bel Paese opened in 1990. It's always been well known to its North Sydney business clientele. If you want to meet here for lunch, it might be advisable to book.

THE FOOD
The food is best described as contemporary Italian cuisine. Chef Piero Pezzolesi together with Chef Rodney Woodham enthusiastically bring their food heritages to fresh Australian produce. The a la carte menu is supplemented by lots of specials and uses seasonally fresh produce.

THE AMBIENCE & DECOR
The setting is simply stunning. The ceiling-to-floor sliding glass doors open out to a beautiful garden courtyard. The wooden floor and contemporary designer décor make you wish this was home. Pino and his staff make you feel like family. Pino has a habit of remembering where you sat last time you were in and even what you ordered.

THE WINE LIST
Having trouble deciding on a wine? The extensive wine list comes with descriptions. If that isn't enough let the staff advise you on a luscious Italian or a beautiful aged Australian red wine.

BEL PAESE FUNCTIONS - OUR SPECIALITY!
The restaurant has a dining capacity of 130 and can be fully booked at no additional cost for evening or weekend functions with a minimum of 70 persons. As we schedule only one function per day on weekends, there is no time restriction on a weekend function.

The restaurant can also be partitioned for smaller functions. Surrounding the restaurant are gardens as well as covered and uncovered courtyards which are available, at no additional cost, for garden ceremonies with a capacity of up to 150-200 persons.
