Candelori's Overview

So loved is Candelori’s Ristorante & Bar, circa Smithfield 1999, that people travel from all over Sydney to enjoy their fine Italian fare. Run by the Candelori family, successful restaurateurs for nearly 40 years, Candelori’s presents the flavours of regional Italy in an elegant fine dining package with outstanding service to boot. The menu offers a staggering number of choices, ranging from the delicate ravioli of lobster, prawn and crab meat finished with diced tomatoes, basil and olive oil to the richly robust ‘capretto’ – pot braised baby goat with garlic, olive oil, sage, rosemary, brandy and white wine. Saving room for dessert is a challenge but well worth it and there’s an extensive wine list with more than 130 varietals.

Situated about 10 minutes from the M4 motorway, Candelori's is a fine dining experience with an emphasis on quality. They source the freshest local vegetables and seafood is delivered daily (WA, NT, QLD, SA, Tasmania and New Zealand origins).

They offer a large selection of seafood, from whole fish (delivered daily), WA lobster & scampi and their pastas are all homemade on premise. They also offer traditional game dishes such as, Rabbit Cacciatore, Rosemary Baby Goat, Spatchcock & Woodfired Porchetta.

Signature dishes include: Baked Figs with Prosciutto - pan-finished with gorgonzola and mascarpone cream (seasonal availability). Zucchini Flowers - filled with ricotta & spinach. Maltalgliati with Rabbit Ragu - roughly cut house made flat egg pasta pan tossed with a pot braised farmed rabbit, Riesling wine, extra virgin olive oil sugo.

Open since 1999, the Candelori Family has been in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and with the success of Candelori's are in the process of doing a refurbishment of the restaurant. In the near future, they aim to design a new sit down bar area and also open the kitchen up for visibility in and out.

By far some of the best food I've had in my life. It's not worth going on a budget, but there is no compromise in quality. The pizzas would be the best value for size. Noone is left waiting too long for their meals. I recommend trying specials and dishes that aren't found at every Italian restaurant. Candelori's convinced me that I can try different foods...it all depends on the way it's cooked and accompanied.
