About Cooma
Cooma is in the Snowy Mountains Region located in the state of New South Wales. The post code for Cooma is 2630.
After the region was explored by Captain Currie in 1823, settlers soon arrived to take advantage of the rich pastoral lands. Development accelerated when gold was discovered at Kiandra. In 1949 Cooma was chosen as the headquarters for the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Authority.
