About Mt Warning

Mt Warning is an inactive volcano which coveres a massive 400 square km and can be found within the Mt Warning national park. Given its name by Captain Cook, it was used as a warning to sailors of the dangerous Point Danger near Tweed Heads. Mount Warning was added to the World Heritage list in 1975, and is the first point of land to see sun in Australia each morning. There are good walking trails and a track to the summit. The trail can be steep in parts with rope assisted pull towards the summit, and takes roughly 5 hours (round trip).
