Great venue great food
Whether it is a traditional Indian curry you are after, or their simply awesome pizzas - I would thoroughly recommend the Woodenbong Hotel!
FOOD at the Woodenbong Hotel is just simply stunning - simple tummy warming good country fare with a 'flair'. The hotel boasts a modest wine list and your favourite ale. Whther for a single traveller or the whole family, the FOOD is fantastic, the accomodation of wolesome family standards and there is always a good conversation to be had. I highly reccommed the Woodenbong Hotel to ANYONE heading in that direction- for just a Sunday drive for lunch OR as a destination to stay a while and explore the mountain surroundings.
Sorry... the service rating was supposed to be 5 stars!
A group of us went on a day trip and stumbled across the Woodenbong Hotel. The people were very friendly and the food was excellent. Everyone ordered a different meal from pasta to burgers to pork chops to fish. Each one was very impressed. Even the kids were delighted with their dinosaur shaped nuggets and beautifully cooked chips. This place is a welcome excuse to drive through the surrounding mountain range, which is also very impressive.
Great food good service, friendliest hotel i've ever been to. staff and locals make you feel welcome.... well worth the 5 hour drive and will be going back soon!!!!!!
We stopped for a quick lunch at this local establishment not knowing a thing about it, and were amazed at the quality of the food -- fantastically prepared parm and the most flavourful Margherita pizza on a chef-made crust that I've had... maybe ever! Dessert was a deliciously rich, creamy smooth mousse. Apparently the new chefs are from The City... what a find for Tony, the owner, and for everyone who stops by for a meal! We will make a point of arranging our travel so we can stop by again.
One look at Woodenbong Hotel and you can picture what waits inside; cold beer, hearty food and the buzz of local chatter. A short journey from World Heritage listed rainforests, biking trails and mountain peaks, Woodenbong Hotel is often just what is called for after a day of adventure. Thaw out by the open fire place or cool off in the beer garden, have a game of pool or enjoy the sounds of the juke box before taking a seat to dine. With everything made in house from scratch, expect a menu of hearty pub grub classics of steak and schnitzel, traditional Indian curries and a modest selection of pizza and pasta. Wrap your hands around the steak burger topped with cheese, grilled onions, smokey barbecue sauce and salad, served with chips, or fill up with angel hair pasta with garlic prawns.
