I am a backpacker from Mexico, and after arriving in Australia after a very long flight, I was craving some good, home cooked Mexican food. I tried a few places on my journey north, and was disappointed in what was passing for Mexican food. It wasn't until I wandered into Gringo's quaint little garden before I felt like I was home. I was amazed at the authenticity of the menu. If you are looking for genuine Latin American cuisine, look no further, Gringo's Fresh Mex has it all!

Gringo's has fabulous fresh food and a great outside dining area. The fresh home cooked taste and organic ingredients make Gringo's the perfect choice. Vegetarian and vegan but seafood is a specialty. Try the Baja Tacos. Only the freshiest fish and prawns are used. After talking to the owners I was able to discover that all the food is made daily on the premises. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is great and relaxed. Once tasted it is never forgotten, I would highly recommend Gringo's.

My partner and I came upon this small but vibrant eatery by accident. If we hadn't been staying in a motel down the road we would never have known of its existence, as it is not in the centre of Brunswick Heads where the majority of the restaurants / cafes are located. However it was an excellent find - worth seeking out - and offered terrific, zesty food (plenty of it) and ambience: the garden setting is just perfect. No surprises with the menu but the produce is treated with respect and the results are lip-smackingly satisfying. A great alternative to the other eateries in this town, which often duplicate their offerings.

If you are in Brunswick heads looking for an alternative to the pub give Gringos fresh mex a try. We just love it and have made it a new tradition whenever we are in the area. It has a lovely relaxed covered garden for outdoor dinning or you can sit inside on the comfy couch. The kids are always are excited to get the chicken Nachos and my husband can not go past the beef enchilada, My favorite is the Baja Tacos. It is very reasonably priced so I can sit back relax and let someone else do the cooking.

what a refreshing find! this place has it all. We had a wonderfully tasty meal out in their private garden. i started with a couple chicken empanadas,followed by a chili con carne burrito with guacamole and jalapenos.a beautiful blend of flavours and very fresh. the meals are served with beans, rice and a nice bit of greens, so i was feeling kind-of full but found it hard to resist the sound of "chilli chocolate ganache",proved to be a awesome way to finish off my Mexican experience. all said and done,with the tasteful choice of Latin music and all surrounds i could easily envision being in some small town in Mexico. A MUST VISIT!
