When to Visit Northern Rivers
Tucked up against the Queensland boarder, Northern Rivers NSW Shares much of the Glorious weather for which the Gold Coast is Famous. The Northern Rivers has a sub-tropical climate with plenty of sunshine year round. Summer temperatures range from 19 to 29°C. Winter temperatures range from an average of 9 to 21°C. Lightweight clothing is suitable year round however you may need a jacket or pullover in the evening.
Getting Around Northern Rivers
The Norhern Rivers Regions boarders Queensland’ Gold Coast and is accessible by road, and air transport. The closest major airport is the Gold Coast Airport which is approximately 30 minutes to an hour’s drive from most of the major towns within the region. Regional airports are also located at Grafton & Casino. Coaches frequently run up and down the east coast between Brisbane and Sydney, however the best way to truly enjoy the region is by car. Public bus and taxi services are available within the major towns.
