Milano's on the Lake Overview

Cooking for the likes of Madonna and Sting, Milano’s on the Lake has earned a reputation for being one of the best restaurants in the Lake Macquarie area. Located on the lake at Pelican Marina, Milano’s fronts onto the channel connecting beautiful Lake Macquarie to the sea. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, you’ve found it here in this beautiful little bay area. The wide selection of fresh and succulent seafood will impress even the hard to please food critics. Meat lovers are well catered for, too, with such delicious offerings as pan seared quail served with peach & Spanish onion tart, rocket & goat's cheese salad or galangal poached kangaroo loin served on eucalyptus crouton with capsicum relish, crispy prosciutto & herb salsa.

LOCATION
Milano's on the Lake is a 90 minute drive north from Sydney and 30 minutes from Newcastle. It's situated in a beautiful little area by Lake Macquarie and you will not regret making a day trip to the bay. The restaurant is accessible by boat and mooring can be reserved by booking ahead.

DINING
The alfresco dining area is right next to the water on the deck and you can get amazing views at sunset. After dusk the special underwater lighting illuminates the pristine waters, revealing a rare glimpse into the abundant sea life. The atmosphere is relaxed and easygoing here on the bay, where Milano's invites you to wine, dine and relax in their breathtaking venue.

FOOD
As well as serving a large range of seafood, Milano's also serves lamb, beef, chicken, duck and vegetarian dishes. The main attraction which deserves mention is the Sydney rock oysters, which can be straight up or with a variety of toppings, Kilpatrick included. The renowned platter staggers with the weight of 10 different, highly sought after varieties of seafood. As all seafood is prepared fresh, 24 hours notice must be given to order this dish.

If you're feeling fishy, why not try the highly praised oven baked whole snapper with julienned vegetables and a side sauce of chilli, tangy coriander and lime?

Milano's restaurant boasts an international menu prepared by award-winning internationally trained chefs. A selection of wines is offered to accompany the fare and wherever possible, the best of local produce is used in their dishes.
