About Mudgee

Mudgee is in the Central NSW Region located in the state of New South Wales. The post code for Mudgee is 2850.

Mudgee, which is an Aboriginal word meaning 'nest in the hills' lies on the Cudgegong River. The towns main trade is agricultural produce, including wines and honey. Mudgee is an old town -settled 14 years before Melbourne- but an attractive one, with many parks and gardens. The poet Henry Lawson lived as a child in nearby Eurunderee, and Mudgee holds a Floral Festival each year in September in his honour.
