Cowra is in the Central NSW Region located in the state of New South Wales. The post code for Cowra is 2794.

Situated in the heart of the Lachlan Valley, Cowra is the centre of a rich district long famous for its vegetable growing, wool, fat lambs and cattle. Wyangala Dam provides not only the water for agriculture but also an inland aquatic playground for all water sports. The Wyangala State Recreation Area caters for all outdoor type activities including bushwalking and rock climbing.
