Union Bank Wine Bar Overview

Situated in the vibrant city of Orange is Union Bank Wine Bar, the perfect place for drinks with friends, a relaxing lunch in the courtyard or dinner around the fire. Living up to their name, you will not be disappointed by their wine cellar & custom-built wine list, which features local wines as well as a carefully selected range of boutique brands from around Australia and the rest of the world. Union Bank Wine Bar’s menu of contemporary style dishes is based on the fantastic local produce of the surrounding area. You might try the rare roast venison served with dauphinoise potatoes, braised red cabbage, fondant beetroot and juniper jus or the beer battered flathead with chips, aioli sauce, tangy lemon & fresh mixed leaf salad.

LOCATION
Orange's food and wine hub, the Union Bank Wine Bar and Wine Store, occupies a group of heritage listed buildings clustered around a sunny courtyard in the heart of Orange.

The UB, as we are affectionately known by the locals, is perfect for a relaxed meal with friends, a glass of wine by the fire, or a shared antipasto plate and bottle of wine.

Union Bank, is a winner of the 'Best Regional Wine List' in the Sydney Morning Herald's 2010 Good Food Guide awards. In the same month we were also listed among Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine's 'Wine List of the Year' winners.

MENU
Union Bank is open for lunch 6 days a week from 12 to 2.30pm and dinner Monday to Saturday from 6 to 9pm.

The Union Bank menu is based on the fantastic local produce of the surrounding area. We have an array of daily specials and tasting plates to tempt your tastebuds. All dishes have a wine recommendation to help you pick the perfect drop for each dish.

WINE
The UB Wine Store is housed in the former stables (built 1870-1883) is a boutique for local, national and international wines selected by Matt Heagney. The Union Bank wine list was awarded ‘Best Regional Winelist 2010' by the Sydney Good Food Guide and offers a large range of Orange wines by the glass and extensive selection of Australian wines by the bottle.

CHEF
Formerly working as Sous Chef under Scott Want, Pete Thoms has moved into the role of Head Chef at the Union Bank. The style of food Pete produces is modern Australian with an Italian feel. He is most obsessive about local and seasonal produce of which there is plenty to choose from in Orange.

THE WINE STORE
Located just across the courtyard from the Union Bank Wine Bar, our wine store offers an expansive range of both local, Australian and imported wines. We have a superb selection of Orange wines which you can purchase to take home or enjoy in the Wine Bar.

The Union Bank is also home to the Belgravia Wines cellar door.

What a great place to relax for a glass of wine but talk about good wine what I loved about this place is how good the wines are. Who ever chooses the wines really knows what they are doing. Plus the food is a big good. Go the squid or the daily special. I really recommend this place next time you are in orange.
