Step inside and Vin Santo’s – a local institution – wraps you in a warm embrace of hospitality, lively atmosphere and hearty, flavoursome Italian food. Patrons are encouraged to “live well, eat heartily and love ferociously” and Vin Santo Ristorante’s seasonal menu makes this all too easy. Regional specialties from throughout Italy are regularly featured along with dishes like gourmet pizza topped with feta, avocado and Vin Santo’s olive pate; veal cooked with white wine, cream, pancetta and mushrooms; and chocolate ganache tart, all available to dine in or take away.

Nestled in the heart of historic Mittagong, amongst antique stores and tea shops, is Vin Santo. We've been here for 19 years, and serve popular favourites, though also spice things up with weekly specials for fish, mains, risottos, pasta and desserts.

Our cuisine is inspired by Italians' love for hearty dishes and eyebrow-raising flavours. Our dishes are larger than normal – Italians have big appetites after all – and our food is true in flavour and authenticity. Beverages alongside your meal include fabulous Italian vodka, Vin Santo (wine of Saints with dipping biscotti) and local Southern Highland wines.

Vin Santo's two owners, Peter Oakley (head chef) and Moira Mevissen (Manager) both worked at Vin Santo's as employees but loved it so much they bought the restaurant in 2010 and have since enhanced its appeal further with new menus, staff, décor and ambience. We liken a night at Vin Santo's to a big, warm hug from an Italian mama!

Learnt of Vin Santo Ristorante through The Good Food Guide. An excellent choice! Food delicious,generous servings, staff professional and courteous. We intend to visit again for their Night of Music (every Monday night).
