About Jack and Shanan's

For light café fare, refreshing drinks and tasty treats, meet friends at Jack and Shanan’s gelataria and creperie on Williams Esplanade in Palm Cove. Relax into holiday mode, unwinding in a semi-alfresco setting, surrounded by palms and mangrove trees just steps from the beach; or head further inside and sink into a cosy cushioned chair overlooking the indoor pool of Drift Apartments. Serving up a scrumptious menu for all day dining inspired by Mexican flavours, opt for a lunch of chorizo and feta cheese bruschetta on char-grilled ciabatta, drizzled with balsamic glaze. Those arriving of an evening, may begin with marinated sea bass ceviche, topped by avocado salsa; before delving into a main like slow roasted crocodile ribs in a tomato and Cajun sauce, served with Mexican rice and slaw.

breakfast with a view
Enjoyed a lazy saturday breakfast at Jack and shanans. We were attracted here by the number of patrons. The prices were reasonable and the food was lovely. We were greeted promptly and politely by the wait staff and had a choice of seating, inside and out. We chose outside, so we could look out over the coral sea. We were offered coffee while we looked over the menu and our orders were taken on the arrival of our coffee. I find it hard to go past french toast, and this was not the time to differ. So i ordered the french toast, which was thick cut ciabatta, served with nicely cooked bacon and pure maple syrup, my partner enjoyed the bangers and beans, house made beans, served with perfectly poached eggs. We also partook of the cold pressed juice, both were refreshing and delicious. the service was prompt without being pushy, and if it wasnt for the large selection of cafes/restrauants (28 in total on the one street)we would go again, but we are only here for 4 nights and we would like to partake of as many as possible in that time.
