Nestled at the heart of the estate on Relbia Road in Relbia is the immersive dining experience of Chef-hatted Josef Chromy Restaurant – a must-do lunch spot on your Tamar Valley itinerary. Set among old English gardens, stands of 100-year-old oak trees overlooking a picturesque lake, winery and 61-hectare vineyard, the property is a 15-minute drive south of Launceston. Acclaimed as one of Australia's top 10, the cellar door is housed in an original 1880s homestead; there's always a log fire burning while you taste a wide range of award-winning cool-climate wines. Graze on plates such as wood-grilled octopus in North African spices, toasted pine nut cream, sugar snaps, kohlrabi, radish and soft herb salad; before Riesling and lemon-glazed pork collar, turnips, fennel, mango mustard and jus.

With years spent honing our craft, Josef Chromy Wines has truly earned its reputation as the jewel in Tasmania's epicurean crown.
It is certainly more than a winery - or a restaurant. It's a celebration of the commitment founder Joe had to the region, and a showcase of the finest food and wine that Tasmania offers. The rolling hills of the 61 hectare vineyard sets the scene for the Cellar Door and Restaurant, with vast expanses of floor to ceiling windows and shady decks making the best of our stunning, typically Tamar Valley view.
Executive Chef Nick Raitt, leads the kitchen team in crafting every dish with heart and honesty. TOur menu changes almost daily, making the most of small quantities of impeccable produce delivered from burgeoning tiny farms and artisanal producers or his own kitchen garden. Every plate is a testament to the rich tapestry of Northern Tasmania's land and its people.
We acknowledge the palawa as the traditional owners of lutruwita (Tasmania) and the valley of the kanamaluka (Tamar River). We pay our respects to their elders past and present, and recognise their deep connection to the land, waterways and skies of this place we share today.
